Whether you’re after salty or sweet street snacks, there are plenty to choose from at Chillva Market. Plus, this market is open all week, so you don’t have to plan your trip around limited opening hours on weekends.
2. Bang Pae Waterfall
Bang Pae waterfall is Thailand’s largest cascade and a popular weekend escape for locals. Located within the national park, it’s a tranquil spot for picnics and dips in the cool waters.
A nature trail runs alongside the stream, and a few pools are dotted along the way. The hike takes about 10 minutes and is suitable for children.
3. Big Buddha
Located on a patch of lush green rain forest hundreds of metres above Phuket City, the 148 foot (45 metre) tall Big Buddha is one of the most popular landmarks in the island.
Dedicated to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, this stunning white marble image was built entirely from donations. It sits on Nakkerd Hill, or Naga Hill and has sweeping views over Phuket Town, Kata Bay and the Karon strand.
4. Khao Phra Thaeo National Park
If you’re looking for some breathing space away from the hustle and bustle of Phuket, look no further than this stunning national park. Known for its waterfalls and mountain walkways, Khao Phra Thaeo is a must-visit for nature lovers.
A guided trek through the rainforest is a must do for anyone who loves to get close to wildlife. Follow your guide as they lead you through the jungle and spot iguanas, snakes, gibbons and other animals in this tropical oasis.
5. Phuket Bird Park
If you’re a nature lover, a visit to Phuket Bird Park is worth adding to your itinerary. It’s home to over 100 exotic birds from Asia, Africa and South America.
You can watch birds show off their skills in a live show three times daily at 10:30am, 1:30pm and 3:30pm. You can also feed the birds and take photos with them.
6. Windmill Viewpoint
The Windmill Viewpoint in Phuket is the perfect place to watch an unforgettable sunset. It has a fantastic view of both Nai Harn Beach and Ya Nui Beach as well as a small island known as Koh Man.
Located just south of Phromthep Cape, this viewpoint is slightly off the beaten track but worth a visit for its unique sea and sunset views. It’s also a great spot for hang gliding and model airplane fans.

The Patong Night Market is one of the most popular markets on the island. Located near Malin Plaza at the southern end of Patong Beach, it is a great place to shop for local foods and other items.
8. Patong Beach
Patong Beach is Phuket’s most bustling and popular beach. This three-kilometer long sandy beach is lined with restaurants, cafes and hotels.
The beach area can be crowded and noisy during the high season, but it is still a lovely place to swim and enjoy the sun. You can also try water activities such as banana rides, parasailing and jet skiing.
9. Karon Viewpoint
Karon Viewpoint (formerly known as Kata Viewpoint) is one of Phuket’s most popular sights. It offers spectacular views of three beaches – Karon, Kata Noi and Kata Yai – from a hillside called Kho Sam Haad.
It’s a popular spot for tourists to stop and take photos, or just rest and enjoy the gazebo shade. It’s also a great place to watch the sunset.
10. Patong Nightlife
The beach town of Patong is famous for its never-ending party scenes. This makes it a must-visit destination for tourists.
It is the home of many beach clubs, cabaret shows, go-go bars, and discotheques.
The street of Bangla Road is filled with neon lights, billboards, and colorful decor items. It’s a fun place to spend an evening, but it can be overwhelming for some visitors.
