spectrum of the seas

From epic thrills to tech-inspired entertainment, Spectrum of the Seas unlocks endless ways to level up your days at sea. With a first-at-sea experience like Sky Pad, a virtual reality bungee trampoline, plus game changing dining and stateroom options.

Team up in a glow-in-the-dark laser tag battle to win control of Planet Z. This high-tech adventure puts your communication and coordination skills to the test in a space that transforms throughout the day and night.

Two70

The newest addition to the Royal Caribbean fleet, Spectrum of the Seas, is home to some pretty impressive tech. Gizmag chatted with Tim Magill, a designer at 5+design, who worked on the ship’s high-tech Bionic Bar and Two70 multimedia theater.

During the day, Two70 is a comfortable lounge space with plush couches, love seats and oversized chairs. It also houses the ship library and a closed off workshop style room dedicated to scrapbooking.

But at night, cutting edge technology merges with talented talent for a transformative experience that combines sweeping ocean views and Vistaramas with music and dance performed by roboscreens. This one of a kind venue is not to be missed.

Laser Tag

Whether you want to play alone or with friends, you can choose between many different game scenarios. You’ll be armed with a phaser gun that shoots an invisible, 100% safe laser beam to tag opponents’ sensors. Power-ups — like Stealth, Invulnerability and Rapid Fire — let you win extra points. You can even change team color and become a Secret Agent or an Assassin for a limited time.

This ship, built in 2019, is part of the Royal Caribbean’s Quantum-Ultra Class. Use the cruise ship stats and info below to find out more about its passenger capacity, length, gross tonnage, engine data, number of rooms and decks, etc. It also compares Spectrum of the Seas vs. the rest of the Royal Caribbean fleet. The ship’s cabin types include interior, accessible interior and promenade view cabins, as well as royal suites, grand suites and the owner’s suite.

Sea Roller Skating

Every day is a new adventure on this game-changing ship. From the Flowrider artificial surf simulator to the North Star observation capsule and gravity-defying thrills of RipCord by iFLY, this Quantum Ultra class cruise ship is filled with unforgettable experiences that push the boundaries of innovation and fun.

Channel your inner roller girl (or boy) at Seaplex, a multifunctional space that hosts dodgem cars, basketball and trapeze classes by day; and a roller skating rink by night. In between, experience the world’s first augmented reality show at Two70 and jam out at a virtual concert with the iconic band Queen. And when it’s time to rest, there’s plenty of spots to relax by the pool or under the stars. This is where a good vacation really starts.

Flowrider(r)

Flowrider is an onboard wave simulator where guests can surf as many times as they want for FREE. This attraction has become one of the most popular features onboard Spectrum of the Seas and the entire Quantum Ultra-class fleet. While riding the FlowRider is a lot of fun, it is also very challenging and there have been some serious injuries. Guests must sign an Onboard Activities Waiver prior to riding and are supervised by trained cruise ship personnel.

One of the main entertainment venues on board is Two70, a state-of-the-art space that merges tech and talent for a truly amazing experience. This venue is home to some of the most original production shows onboard like The Effectors, a family-friendly show about four superheroes or Showgirl, which is a stunningly staged spectacular featuring music and choreography.

VOOM Surf & Stream 1

While VOOM internet is not cheap, it is a huge improvement over what was previously available. One blog reported that they were able to stream YouTube and Netflix without any issues, and video chats also worked well. They do recommend getting the Surf+Stream package if you are planning on using these services and want to save some money.

Spectrum of the Seas is the fifth largest cruise ship in Royal Caribbean’s fleet. It was built specifically for the Chinese market and has many unique experiences, including the FlowRider surf simulator and the Ripcord by iFLY skydiving experience.

The ship also features an 83sqm Bulgari boutique, the largest at sea in Asia, and a wide range of other luxury shops. It also offers a variety of dining options, including the Park Cafe and Windjammer buffet.
