royal caribbean cruises

Royal Caribbean cruises are a great way to experience the world. They offer endless thrills on deck, Broadway-style entertainment and a selection of accommodations that your clients will love.

They also offer many onboard activities, such as surfing and skydiving simulators. In addition, they have water parks with a variety of slides and other fun-focused attractions.

Private Island

Private islands have evolved from secluded beaches to full-day destinations with a staggering array of activities. From towering water parks and thrilling ziplines to swim-up bars and luxurious beachside cabanas, cruise lines are competing with each other to build exclusive tropical enclaves where guests can experience more than a day at the beach.

Royal Caribbean’s CocoCay, in the Bahamas, is probably the most well-known of these private islands. Adrenaline junkies will love its Thrill Waterpark with North America’s tallest waterslide, while the Up, Up and Away hot air balloon ride offers spectacular views of the island from 300 feet in the air.

The island also has a beach club where guests can stay in Maldives-style beach villas. Those who want to get closer to nature can hand-feed stingrays, go parasailing or snorkel with turtles. Alternatively, you can sit back and relax in one of CocoCay’s floating beach Cabanas.

Onboard Entertainment

There is a wide variety of onboard entertainment on Royal Caribbean ships. From Broadway-inspired productions to ice skating shows, there is plenty to keep you entertained during your cruise.

A majority of the onboard activities on Royal Caribbean cruises are free. You can find a full schedule of these events on your daily Cruise Compass or by logging into your Royal Caribbean account online.

On some of the newest ships in the line, you can even see Broadway-inspired shows, including Grease and Mamma Mia! These shows are among the most popular onboard.

In addition to musicals and ice skating shows, Royal Caribbean also offers comedy shows and magic acts. These shows are great for the whole family and can be enjoyed in several venues onboard.

Younger travelers will love the Adventure Ocean program, which provides daily programming for children ages 3 to 11. They can also watch 3D movies and participate in themed breakfasts and parades on select ships.

Cabin Amenities

Royal Caribbean ships offer a wide range of cabin amenities for guests to choose from. These include inside and balcony staterooms, suites and specialty suites.

Balcony Cabins – Almost 70% of the rooms on the line’s new Oasis and Quantum-class ships feature balconies. They’re the most popular type of room for many cruisers and are a great way to enjoy the scenery without having to leave your cabin.

Promenade View Interior – On the largest RCI ships you can find unique inside cabins with bow windows that overlook the Atrium’s Royal Promenade. This gives you more space to move around in the cabin, but it’s also a great vantage point to watch the parades that occur each evening along the promenade.

Some of these inside cabins have virtual balconies – 80-inch floor-to-ceiling HD screens that stream real-time footage from outside. They’re an excellent option for cruisers who want to see the scenery from their cabin, but don’t have the budget to stay in a suite or balcony.

Food

There are a multitude of dining venues on board Royal Caribbean cruises. These include a mix of traditional complimentary options alongside vibrant specialty restaurants.

Many of these dining experiences are based on feedback from previous guests. That means you’ll find everything from American comfort foods (American Icon Grill) to Asian fusion cuisine (Silk) to upscale restaurants featuring celebrity chefs.

Some ships also have free casual options, such as El Loco Fresh, which offers a variety of customizable tacos and nacho chips. This is a great place to grab a quick snack when you’re in the pool or sport decks and doesn’t require a reservation or extra charge.

The main dining rooms serve three-course dinners each night, which is included with your cruise fare. You can choose an early or late seating time, or opt for the “My Time Dining” experience and eat whenever you’d like.
