I have gotten calls from people claiming to be some utility or cab driver that need to get connected to my room so they can make sure the internet and phone lines are working. Then there is the classic credit card scam. The caller is usually calling during the middle of the night, when most guests are asleep, and they need your credit card number to connect you to their room. I’ve also gotten calls from people who say they are in an emergency and need to stay in my room for free because their loved ones were killed or robbed back home, so they can’t pay for their own room.
