Snorkeling

If you’re planning to work on your tan or relax, head to the main beach and find a spot near the shore. Be sure to slather on sunscreen (reef-safe options are available) and bring your own snorkel gear to avoid paying the daily rental fee.
More adventurous travelers can take a short walk to the southern end of the island and swim out into a cove where stingrays await for their daily feeding. Tickets to interact with the creatures are available at the excursion kiosk on the main beach.
Beaches
The beaches at Princess Cays are a dream come true with pristine white sand and clear aquamarine waters. Although the main beach attracts most visitors, it’s easy to walk in either direction for a less-crowded spot.
The warm Caribbean waters are teeming with marine life like sponges, anemones, coral reefs and thousands of colorful marine fish. You can rent snorkel equipment and jump right in or book a boat excursion for more experienced divers.
You can also rent kayaks, windsurfing, dinghy sailing, paddle wheelers and aqua bikes. If you’re feeling energetic, sign up for a Dune Buggy tour that explores the sleepy Bannerman Town settlement and beautiful church ruins. Or stroll through the 25-acre Leon Levy Native Plant Reserve and learn about Bahamian wildlife.
Bungalows
Princess Cays is a resort at the southern tip of Eleuthera Island. Since it’s impossible for cruise ships to dock here, guests get ashore on small boats called tenders.
The resort is dotted with private beach bungalows. Those who reserve a Sanctuary or Suite Bungalow receive a free picnic lunch delivered to their bungalow, along with priority tendering and access to the exclusive Sanctuary area of the beach.
Sun worshippers will love a day at the beautiful beach. Just remember to slather on the sunscreen!
For a more secluded beach experience, head to the far southern end of Princess Cays. You’ll find a small cove with calm waters and excellent snorkeling. It’s a great option for families with kids. This area is also the location of a small wading pool.
Shopping
Taking home Bahamian artwork is an excellent souvenir of your trip and a positive show of support for local artisans. This can include canvas paintings of the island lifestyle or intriguing wood sculptures.
Shops located near the paved path between the beach and straw market sell clothing, shells and handmade gifts. They can’t be paid for using your Sail & Sign card, so bring cash or your credit card. The sellers aren’t likely to scam you, but they are very enthusiastic and haggle rather than have set prices.

Princess Cays is a beautiful and serene oasis that features over a half-mile of private beaches. Located in the southern part of the island of Eleuthera, it’s a great spot to relax with a loved one or catch some sun.
