Norwegian breakaway is a 1068-foot ship that is packed with fun and exciting activities and attractions. It has everything you need to have a fantastic vacation with the family.
Norwegian cruises appeal to a wide range of people, from families to young adults and even solo travelers. The line also has an impressive fleet of mass-market cabins that are affordable to middle-class travelers.
Entertainment
Norwegian Breakaway and her sister ships are packed with entertainment options, including Broadway-style shows, magic-infused dinner theaters, comedy club performances, and a steampunk-inspired theater with a circus-themed production called Cirque Dreams. Several ships also feature Howl at the Moon dueling piano bars, while others have lively Q Texas Smokehouse venues.
For families, there’s Nickelodeon-themed kids activities (including Spongebob) and a pair of decks dedicated to family fun. On the bigger ships in the Breakaway Class, there are giant waterslides and kiddie splash zones, plus go-kart tracks and laser tag arenas on top decks.
Onboard entertainment aboard Norwegian Breakaway and her sister ship is top-notch, with three Broadway-style shows, plus The Rockettes, Rock of Ages and a version of the Latin-themed dance show Burn the Floor. Another popular attraction is the sell-out musical Six – The Musical, which takes Tudor queens and pop princesses and mixes five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a 75-minute celebration of 21st century girl power.
Dining
Norwegian Breakaway has a number of dining options to choose from. You can enjoy a meal at a buffet or one of the ship’s main restaurants, such as Cagney’s Steakhouse and Le Bistro.
Those interested in seafood can enjoy the Ocean Blue restaurant or the Raw Bar. Or if you prefer Italian food, you can try La Cucina.
With 27 dining options, Norwegian Breakaway offers something for everyone. It also has several entertainment choices and a large water park with two slides that are the fastest at sea.
Norwegian Breakaway features a quarter-mile-long oceanfront promenade called The Waterfront. It provides outdoor seating for several of the ships’ interior dining venues, including Moderno Churrascaria (a Brazilian steakhouse), Shaker’s Martini Bar, and Dolce Gelato.
Pools & Hot Tubs
Whether you’re splashing around the pool, soaking up the sun or racing down the slides on our Breakaway Class ships, there’s a way for everyone to have fun.
Norwegian Breakaway has a great water park called Aqua Park which has four multi-story waterslides, an area just for kids and two pools. It also has a couple of slides that are known as “Free Falls,” where the floor disappears and guests drop into a thrilling loop.
There’s also an indoor thermal pool with a corner section that looks like a hot tub on steroids. It’s filled with intense jets of bubbly water, which is really great for a few minutes but could be a little bit overwhelming if you’re not used to it.
There’s also a kid’s ropes course where they can swing on gymnastic rings, catch trapeze bars and navigate an obstacle course through rope nets from one end to the other. There’s also a Nickelodeon themed Splash Academy that offers a variety of activities including Dora’s Dance Party, Story Time with Dora and character meet and greets.
Activities
Norwegian Breakaway, the largest ship to sail all year round in New York, is packed with endless activities that keep cruisers busy and entertained on their vacation. It’s a total package that’s perfect for families, couples or solo travelers.
Besides the extensive range of dining options, Norwegian Breakaway offers several entertainment venues. These include Broadway-style shows and a dueling piano bar.
Another fun experience on Norwegian Breakaway is the Epic Plunge waterslide. Located on the ship’s top deck, this water slide is 200 feet long and offers guests a chance to jump off from a height of 50 feet.
The ship also has a Kids’ Aqua Park, featuring colorful, whimsical and larger-than-life figurines surrounding a shallow pool that’s perfect for little ones to splash around. It also has Splash Academy, which provides kids with supervised activity spaces to burn off energy and meet other children their own age.
