Built in 2004, Jewel of the Seas was Royal Caribbean’s fourth and final vessel to be constructed as part of the Radiance class of cruise ships. These smaller vessels were built as a counter-point to the Voyager and Freedom classes that had been largely built for cruising in colder climates.
Dining
Dining options at jewel of the seas are a mix of both complimentary and for-a-fee venues. The two complimentary venues are the Windjammer and the Park Cafe, while the for-a-fee restaurants include Tides and Wonderland.
Depending on your mood and what you’re looking for, you can choose from a wide range of cuisines at each of the for-a-fee restaurants. You’ll find international and American favorites as well as a few unique specialties that can only be found on the ship.
If you’re looking for an elevated dining experience, consider Chef’s Table. This intimate dining room is led by the ship’s chef and offers five exquisite courses.
Other popular dining options on the ship are 150 Central Park and Chops Grille. Both of these restaurants are open nightly for dinner from 5 to 9:30 pm. They serve dishes that will transport you and your taste buds to a different world.
Entertainment
As a member of Royal Caribbean’s Radiance-class, jewel of the seas is a bright and friendly ship that was last renovated in 2016. It has been designed to showcase its ever-present ocean views from all areas of the ship.
Guests can take in showstopping entertainment and stellar Broadway musical productions, reach new heights with thrilling rock climbing or recharge in the tranquil Solarium pool. There are also plenty of fabulous restaurants, a state-of-the-art fitness center and the rejuvenating VItality Spa.
There’s more than enough entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. Kids can take part in complimentary age-appropriate activities through Adventure Ocean youth programs while adults relax at the casino, shop duty-free, watch a free Broadway show or enjoy a cocktail at one of 16 clubs, bars and lounges on board.
The 90,000-ton Jewel is much smaller than many of her fleetmates, so it feels like a much more intimate vessel. That makes it an ideal choice for those looking for a more immersive cruise experience than the mega-ships that dominate Royal’s fleet today.
Activities
Guests onboard Radiance-class ships can experience a refreshing blend of traditional and innovative onboard activities. On Jewel, passengers can scale a 40-foot rock climbing wall, play mini golf and have a jolt of adrenaline on a waterslide.
For a relaxing day out, families can take advantage of kid-friendly pools with whirlpools and a choice of bars and grills. Alternatively, adults can find some peace and quiet in the Solarium.
Whether you like to relax by the pool, catch a show or book yourself a massage, there is something for everyone on board. And with shows ranging from sultry jazz music to stellar Broadway productions and a variety of cuisine options, you’re sure to have an unforgettable cruise vacation on Jewel.
Cabins
Jewel of the Seas is a Radiance-class cruise ship that offers guests an unforgettable cruising experience. It features fun activities, spectacular entertainment, spacious staterooms and a diverse selection of dining options.
Cabins vary in size and features, so it’s best to consult with a travel agent for assistance selecting the right cabin for your needs. Interior cabins are smallest and are often the cheapest, but lack windows; Outside or Oceanview cabins offer a view, but have no windows; Balcony cabins are more spacious and allow you to enjoy a view without leaving your room; Suites are the largest of the lot, offering separate living and sleeping areas.
All of the cabins on jewel of the seas offer excellent value for the money. However, you should be aware that noise from children jumping and partying can be disruptive, particularly when the balcony is beneath a big common area. If you’re looking for a quiet space, choose a cabin on the upper decks away from the main common area.
