There may be times when you’d like to look up your Hilton Honors reservations and see if there are any changes. You can do this online, on the app or through Customer Support. It’s also a good idea to look up your reservations periodically because rates can change frequently depending on forecasted occupancy.
Search for Available Rooms
When it comes to hotel booking, the Hilton HHonors mobile app is top dog. It offers all the essentials, from exclusive offers to the ability to earn bonus points. Best of all, you can book your stay up to 24 hours in advance. You can even check into your room the day before your trip if you are a HHonors member. The app also allows you to save your favorite hotels for later visits. And, as a courtesy, the app will alert you to any last minute rate adjustments on your part.
The best part is that you can do all this from your phone or tablet of choice. You can search for hotels by city, state or zip code, and find the right one for you by comparing your favorite hotels to your favorite places to eat and play. You can even get a feel for the area’s demographics by browsing through ratings and reviews from previous guests.
Book a Room
Getting a good room at the best rate can be challenging, especially if you’re looking to book a room with points. Hilton offers a tool to help you determine how many points it will take to book an award night at your desired hotel.
The tool is called Points Explorer, and it’s easy to use. Simply enter your dates of travel, select a city and you’ll be able to see a range of expected award rates for each hotel.
In addition, you can use this tool to search for rooms by room type. This can be useful if you’re looking to upgrade your room or get a better view.
In another move, Hilton is bringing Google Maps into the mix to allow members to visualize available rooms’ locations in relation to streets, public transportation and parks. This feature is currently available on the Hilton HHonors app and will be added to Hilton’s Web sites this summer.
Modify or Cancel a Reservation
If you’re a Hilton Honors member, you can look up and modify an existing reservation in the Hilton app or online. You can also contact customer support to make the same changes.
For non-Members, the process is a little more involved as you need to phone the company’s special department that handles such things in order to get a change approved. You’ll pay a modest fee to process the transaction.
It’s a good idea to retrieve all the details of your reservation before making the modification, as that will save you time and money in the long run. In particular, the confNumber and gnrNumber of the modified hotel stay will be worth taking notice of in a subsequent email from Hilton.
Check Cancellation Policy
If you’re looking to make a reservation with Hilton, it’s important to check the cancellation policy before booking. This policy may vary depending on the hotel, location, rate type and other factors.
Generally, flexible rates and Honors discount rates allow for 48 to 72 hour cancellations. But the cut-off can be higher if you booked a semi-flex or advance purchase rate.
Some hotels even require you to cancel at least five days before your stay. This can be tricky, especially if you’re staying at a popular resort or city.
In order to help with this, Hilton has started testing a new cancellation policy at 20 of its properties across the United States. During this test, guests can cancel their reservations free of charge up to 24 hours after they book, but a $50 fee will be charged if a reservation is cancelled after this time frame.
