Explorer of the seas is a huge ship that has everything you need for a fun cruise. Whether you’re looking for an adventure on the rock wall, basketball court, or ice skating rink, or if it’s a quiet retreat at Vitality Spa, there is something for everyone on this amazing ship.

The Main Dining Room

explorer of the seas’ main dining room, called the Sapphire Dining Room, is one of the most beautiful on a Royal Caribbean ship. It’s a multi-level restaurant that is named after famous global explorers, and each level offers a different seating arrangement.

During the day, the restaurant is open for brunch and lunch. During dinner, the restaurant transforms into a world-class dining experience.

The menu features flavors that take you from Jamaica to Jaipur, a rotating selection of delicious dishes always offering something unexpected.

The Main Dining Room is an experience that you’ll want to have on every cruise. You can also dine at the complimentary Windjammer Marketplace buffet, which features a wide variety of savoury and sweet options.

Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen

Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen on explorer of the seas is an extension of Royal Caribbean’s new Italian restaurant concept that first debuted on Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas. The menu is a combination of Italian favorites, including pizzas, pasta, charcuterie boards and Italian wines.

The hefty antipasto platter is a must-try here, loaded with mortadella and porchetta, rolled mozzarella, fresh basil and pesto. Also not to be missed are the veal osso buco and house focaccia stuffed with marinated artichokes, olives and pesto.

Giovanni’s is a family-style restaurant where everyone gets to help prepare their meal, allowing the chef to create dishes that aren’t mass produced in an assembly line fashion. For example, the eggplant parmigiana was served hot from the oven, but still had great flavor. The veal lasagna was also delicious, topped with tasty Bolognese sauce and cottage cheese.

Playmakers Bar & Arcade

Whether you’re looking for something to do or just need a place to relax, Playmakers Bar & Arcade is a great choice. It’s always open, but it may not be serving food and drinks at all times.

The sports-themed bar features plenty of TV screens to watch sports. It’s also a great place to get a bite to eat, as it offers a variety of appetizers like sliders and chicken wings.

It also has a few different types of drinks, including beer, wine and cocktails. It’s a great place to relax with friends and family. You can also play arcade games, such as Skeeball.

Movie Nights on the Pool Deck

The top deck is the perfect place to catch a flick, thanks to cruise lines that partner with major movie studios. A 220 square foot movie screen presents first-run movies, live sporting events and more on select ships.

During the day, the pool deck is home to two swimming pools, four whirlpools, and a stage for music performances. The best part is it’s all free and open to the public.

One of the most exciting things about Explorer of the Seas is its top-deck space. It is more than just a place to kick back and relax, but also offers numerous thrills like the 9-hole miniature golf course, climbing rock wall and FlowRider(r) surfing simulator.

Family-Friendly Activities

There are plenty of opportunities to have fun onboard Explorer of the Seas, regardless of age or interest. Try out rock climbing walls and ice skating rinks, play on the ultimate abyss slides, hang out on the pool deck and watch live musical productions like Effectors.

For kids 3-5, there’s the Aquanauts program. Then, for children 6-8, there’s the Explorers program.

On every cruise, Royal Caribbean and National Geographic Education team up to bring cool experiences and learning activities to each voyage. This helps families make the most of their vacations.
