The Caribbean Princess is one of the largest Princess Cruises ships. She features a huge screen that shows movies under the stars, a big casino and two theaters for Broadway-style revues.
This ship also has several restaurants, including the Italian Tratorria, Crown Grill, Streamers Seafood, Plank BBQ and Vines Wine Bar. The ship also offers ‘Dine My Way’ dining where guests can choose when and where they want to eat instead of making traditional dining reservations.
Cabins
Caribbean Princess is one of the largest ships in the Princess fleet, and as such offers a range of different cabin types. Each room type has its own category, and it’s important to understand which is best suited to your needs before you book.
Choosing which cabin is right for you isn’t as simple as it sounds, and many factors come into play. These include the location on the ship and how close you want to be to certain facilities, for instance.
There are a number of different types of cabin on Caribbean Princess, including Interior, Balcony and Premium Balcony. All of them offer different perks, and some are better than others.
Dining
Caribbean Princess offers a variety of dining options to suit every taste and budget. Passengers can choose to enjoy meals in any of the three main dining rooms or enjoy a selection of restaurants on the Lido Deck.
For those that want to dine in a more refined and upscale atmosphere, there are two reservations-only alternative dining venues. Sterling Steakhouse, an upscale seafood and steakhouse venue, and Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria, which serves high-end Italian cuisine.
On sea days, an “English-style Pub Lunch” is offered in the Crown Grill Restaurant. Guests will find a wide selection of classic fish and chips along with other favorites including pork chops, chicken thighs, salads, burgers and hot dogs.
For those that want a little extra luxury, Ultimate Balcony Dining is available for breakfast or dinner. This experience includes a hosted cocktail party, fresh flowers and a deluxe four-course meal. The Chef’s Table Lumiere is another special dining option for an additional fee. It features a behind-the-scenes tour of the galley followed by a multi-course dinner created and hosted by the executive chef.
Entertainment
Caribbean Princess offers a variety of onboard entertainment for the whole family. Children under the age of 17 enjoy teen clubs, Fun Zone activities, Splash Pools and Movies Under the Stars (a 28-square-metre screen showing near first-run films).
The ship’s two theaters feature Broadway-style revues with dazzling stage sets, a talented cast and professional lighting and sound. Guests can also dance the night away to live music in bars and lounges or take in a cabaret show in Club Fusion.
During the day, Caribbean Princess offers a variety of enrichment opportunities such as area lectures and art exhibits. Onboard programs partnered with Discovery Communications also bring destination specialists and naturalists on board to teach classes about local culture, history, wildlife and the environment.
A popular option is Movies Under the Stars, a 28-square-metre screen showing movies and sporting events by the pool at night. It’s such a hit that the line has spread it across its large ships sailing in the Caribbean.
Activities
Caribbean Princess offers a wide array of activities for guests of all ages. From theater shows to casino games and more, there are plenty of things for everyone to enjoy.
In addition to age-appropriate youth clubs, the ship also features a large casino for those seeking entertainment at sea. Recent cruisers praised the variety of dining options as well.
Unlike many of its cruise line rivals, Caribbean Princess focuses on providing a more serene experience. This is reflected in its lounges, showrooms, pools and spas. In addition, the ship has a number of wheelchair-accessible cabins.
